ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular attendance is an important part of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program. Cadets are expected to attend weekly training nights consistently, with a minimum attendance of 60% required to remain in good standing, advance through training levels, and qualify for many squadron activities and summer training opportunities.

If you are unable to attend a training night, please notify the squadron as soon as possible. Communicated absences will be recorded as excused, while repeated absences without communication may affect a cadet's standing within the program. Cadets requiring an extended absence due to school, medical, family, or other commitments should contact the Administration Officer to discuss an approved leave of absence.

​NOTE: You must fill out the Absence Form to be marked absent excused.

We will not accept emails or Teams messages for absences.

ATTENDANCE REVIEW PROCESS

To ensure our membership remains active and engaged, the squadron regularly reviews attendance records. Cadets who have been absent for 30 consecutive days (equivalent to  4 nights) without communication or an approved extended absence will be contacted by email and/or phone.

Following this initial contact, cadets and their parent/guardian will be asked to confirm their intention to remain in the program and outline the steps they will take to improve attendance. Failure to respond, demonstrate a commitment to improving attendance, or maintain communication with the squadron may result in the cadet being released from the program in accordance with Cadet Program policies.

To ensure accurate records and the safety of our cadets, members are also responsible for keeping all administrative information up to date, including emergency contacts, provincial health card information, consent forms, and other required documentation. Failure to provide requested administrative updates after repeated attempts to make contact may also result in release from the squadron.
